Well I don't see why it would be any different, but I don't have Windows 64 to verify. If you're using the "Google" source then it won't work anyway.

Every time I run this program it freezes and I have to shut MM down. I have yet to share the joy everyone else is raving.

A little help please.

You'll need to provide more info than that to get some help. You at least need to detail what version of BAF, Windows, Internet Explorer. You'll have problems with Windows 7-64, even more problems with Internet Explorer 9, and if you manage to get around those, then you've got to deal with the problem that BAF has currently due to Google changing how their image results are returned, and TrixMoto not having time to work on it. He is just another dude like us who happened to write an addon in his own time and was kind enough to release it to anyone else who wanted to try it. As is the way with these things, it became popular and his addon was suddenly exposed to a wide range of OSes and IE versions and people asking for features. When that happens, it starts to take over your life (I've been there) and you're not even earning anything from it. Currently I guess he's busy with life and work, and good for him.

The current BAF workaround to Google results being bad, is to use the workaround that somebody (I forget who) in the last couple of pages provided a modification that used MSN results. I'm using this, it works fine. As for the Windows and IE problems, check the last 5 pages or so of this thread and there are fixes there.

I'm currently using MM+BAF inside a Windows XP virtual machine ("XP Mode") on a Windows 7 x64 Host. I find it works much better inside the XP Mode VM than it does natively in Windows 7 x64. It's accessing the music that's on the host machine directly, the music doesn't have to be inside the VM.

Hi
I am using the updated BAF script that uses Bing now, but get an error on MSInet. The problems others seem to have was w/ Win7-64bit.
I am in good-ol Win-XP 32-bit. Because of this, I am not able to run the regsvr32 commands that were shared a few posts ago.

What would be the work around for Win-XP?

I realized that I don't have msinet.ocx file in C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts.
Can I download this file from any other place?

It's in the installation package and I believe it's unpacked in the "Auto" folder. You can rename the .mmip to .zip and extract it manually though if you want to.

Batch Art Finder MSINET.OCX

Post by salconflu »

I know this has caused others problems and I have made sure this control resides in the MM/Scripts/Auto directory, but Batch Art finder still can't find the MSInet component. This machine is running Windows 7 64 bit. Any advise? Thank you.

PS there is no Wondow32 folder to add this control to. Is there any other location where it should also reside in Windows 7, in addition to MM?

UPDATE: This appears to have something to do with Window 7 locking down read-only status on various folders. I tried uninstalling and re-installing MM and Batch Art Finder and discovered this. Now there is an install error, presumably because the Scripts folder is read-only and Windows 7 will not allow the attribute to be changed.

A quick Google revealed this is a widespread problem with Windows 7...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Batch art finder was working great for a few time but one day it started returning NO RESULTS for google searches and wrong results for the other sources.
I have IE9 (didn't work with IE8 either) Windows 7 64 bits.
I tried changing the properties (max sixe min size) but nothing

GOOGLE DOESN'T WORK!

If anyone feels offended by the large text, please feel free to read back through the thread and count how many times this has already been reported and acknowledged. To clarify, the operating system or software on your computer does not affect that fact that Google return their results differently than they did when I last worked on this script.

Too funny! THANK YOU for the very clear clarification! The best advice I can give is to try the modified script for the Bing browser. Also make sure MSINET.OCX is registered. There is a plethora of information about how to do both in the last few pages of this thread.

If you have other problems, just read the past few pages. Lots of problems have been addressed. You will have to plow through the endless posts of google not working though, but the answers are there. You just need to look.

Oooh, thank goodness, I thought it was either just me or a MM4 quirk. Maybe a new thread is needed--or perhaps the first post in this thread could be edited to reflect the current status ;^D

I hope I'm not sounding rude but...
I think it would be a good habit if you gave more info in the first post of your script threads Trixmoto.

I don't really have time to go back to all of my first posts and edit them constantly to update them, especially as with this script it's not me that changes things, it's the sources. I plan to fix the Google source, and add the Bing source, but I just don't have any time for scripting at the moment, I'm sorry.
