Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
I'm testing minimum size options. Within rateyourmusic, I have set a minimum of 250x250 art size, however the script will not find such a cover art size (20 attempts). Accessing RYM with a browser, it will show a result list upon search, with very small arts, while clicking on the proper album within the results, it will open a bigger art, such as 300x300... is this by (script) design?
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
For example, the following request (taken from your script)
Will show a results page, with multiple hits.... clicking on each result, will show a full size album art.....
Code: Select all
http://rateyourmusic.com/httprequest?searchterm=%22Boogie%20with%20canned%20heat%22&type=l&page=1&action=Search&rym_ajax_req=1&request_token=Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
Albumart.org seems working better!

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
If I remember correctly, RYM changed the website and I couldn't find a programmatic way of getting to the higher resolution images. I was going to remove the source, but thought I might as well leave it in, despite the fact that it can only access the smaller images now.

This is an IE9/MM bug which I thought the developers had fixed - are you on the latest version of MM?Blutarsky wrote:One bug, however: on the reustls window, windows-repaint actions, such as resize, drag, etc. will freeze the dialog. Need to brute force task kill MM...

Yes, 3.2.5.1306.
I see some people are using v4, but it may be a beta version? Will your scripts work with v4?

I am trying to use this add on but I can't install it. I try to move it to the scripts directory but I can't do that. I get an error message. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? I assume it is to go to the scripts sub-directory. Thanks for any help.

You need to double click MMIP files to install them.

I did that and it opens as a set of files but I double clicked on some of them to no avail. Is that MMIP file supposed to be somewhere in particular?Lowlander wrote:You need to double click MMIP files to install them.

No, it could be anywhere. What do you mean by "it opens as a set of files"?jackgerber wrote:I did that and it opens as a set of files but I double clicked on some of them to no avail. HI
I have downloaded your script and installed but I am unable to find a single image for any album I test on. All attempts result in [No results] being displayed.
Unlike others I have not received any Active-X issues.

I am also having problems. I've managed to get one or two results from RateYourAlbums but absolutely no results from Google or any of the other ones. I tried looking at the script and I can't find anything obvious. If I copy the URL that it appears to be using ("http://images.google.com/images?q=""&ma ... ame(album)") and fill in the blanks using %20 for spaces, the URL is valid. That would seem to suggest the problem occurs with parsing the HTML that Google sends back.
I'm using MediaMonkey 4 (4.0.0.1459) and I have IE9 installed (9.0.8112.16421). I didn't get any warnings about ActiveX until I managed to get a few (bad) results for one artist and clicked through to the next images.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I just used the wonderful Album Art Tagger script to blow away a bunch of low resolution album covers and I was hoping to use this to get good ones back.
Thanks!!!!

Please disregard my last post. Apparently I didn't look far enough back in the thread. I now have the modified script that uses Bing and I'm trying to work around the msinet.ocx issue. Thanks.
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
I found a solution that worked for me, even on Windows 7, without having to revert to XP Mode. It came from this thread:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=23921
- Download: http://activex.microsoft.com/controls/vb6/msinet.cab
- Extract the 2 files
- Right click the msinet.inf file and choose intall.
- Done!
I still get warned about ActiveX the first time I switch images, but then it runs like a champ. Awesome!
