Tried to download the recommended upgrade, failed. Any early tweaks to help. Thank you.

Failed how? please give some more details about the problem or the whole error message you see.

I get teh error message that my MM.DB cannot copy from C:\User to the location where I have put it. MM won't start!

v4.02 Database won't copy ???

After installing 4.02 MM gioves an error on starting up: MM.DB cannot copy from C:\User\... (standard location) to the location of my choice (n:\music\MM\MM.DB). Program won't start.

I need some more informations. Is that portable or non-portable installation ? What system you're using and are you running MM with admin rights or as standard user (in case you're running on Win7) ?

Not sure how to get MM to try and upgrade me again. Settings include check for updates, any hint on how to get MM to upgrade so i can record error message? thank you

If the upgrade failed, you should be able to reinstall the debug version and have DBGView running (step 4b) and take screenshots of any error messages: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Month on getting same error w/attempted install of .2 upgrade. Running Windows 7 . Screen print of error screen below. Is this a Win7 error, I am the only "User" on this machine.

That means some process on your PC has a file the the installer needs to replace locked. Just restart your PC and reinstall MediaMonkey.

Restarted pc went straight to download got same error.
I was able to download .1 upgrade w/o problem.
I am getting same error when i try to download the debug version to send in a debug log. Thanks

Make sure you don't run MediaMonkey at all after restart of PC.

Thank you upgrade worked after I did not open MM prior to dl.
Trying to follow debug version link w/o opening MM so I can dl debug version for the cut off track issue. thks.
