I just updated to the latest MediaMonkey 4 release, and am getting random Access Violation errors. They pop up completely at random; I can't figure out what would be triggering them. The full message is:
Title bar says: 1. bh 11340 br14 - MediaMonkey
Error message says: Access Violation at address 00513699 in module "MediaMonkey.exe." Read of address 00000000.
The error doesn't shut down MM4; it seems to just keep running normally. But it is sure disconcerting and annoying.
Any ideas?

OK, now they're really coming up constantly. They don't always reference the same address.
This is REALLY annoying. Hope someone has a solution.

I'm having the same problem. Might have something to do with trying to open a file format it can't read.

Re: Random "Access Violation" errors in MM4
Man, this thing has TONS of bugs. Now I was just trying to sync my iPod and I noticed that it's not picking up a couple of albums that are clearly in my "Christmas" music folder. MediaMonkey's file list itself shows the music in there, but when I drill down into the Auto-Sync tab's list of folders, it's not there. Those folders are just missing. What the hell. They're just regular MP3s.
Then I try to actually sync and MM4 crashes with a whole bunch of SQL errors. I am not amused.

Open Suppport ticked and create debug log as described here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

I've been doing that furiously. (Not by choice, but just due to the sheer frequency and quantity of these error messages. They're happening constantly.)

Yes, I've been doing that. Got frustrated with the frequency of having to do it, though (the errors were constant), so I finally just completely uninstalled MM and reinstalled from scratch. MM4 had been installed as an upgrade from the previous version; I decided to wipe that out and just install MM4 from scratch.
So far, it's behaving well. We will see.

Re: Random "Access Violation" errors in MM4
I've just started getting the same access violation messages, same format, and it's occurring every time I alter the properties of a track. I take it this is being worked on, given the above? I've never submitted a bug report formally before and I'd rather not go through the process if there's already an open, relevant ticket.
Perhaps this is relevant: When I just closed the program, it prompted this question: "There are background processes running: Terminate them?" As far as I knew nothing was running, and nothing should have been running at the time.

Re: Random "Access Violation" errors in MM4
I was getting "Access Violations" once in a while but now I get them on a regular basis. Similar to user svburke, it seems to randomly happen immediately after editing a single tag of a single track directly within the library listing, not the Properties dialog, when attempting to click (step) off of that field (tag) in order to save the changes. The Access Violation message pops up, the tag/field is still open in Edit mode, and I cannot save that latest edits... unless I press the Esc key. After I OK another Access Violation pop-up, I can no longer edit any track tags without going to the Properties dialog or exit/restart MM. When closing MM (in order to re-open it), I get exactly 2 more Access Viloation pop-ups before MM will completely close. I notice no pattern as to why these violations occur and my drivers/OS have not changed (except for the occasional/minor OS update from MS) since I was running MM3. Love the program but this is getting a little old.
