Nope. Same issue. Instead of the model number and "- Card" and "- Phone", now there are two instances called "Android Phone". It scans and finds the media that's on there already but gives the same error when trying to sync a playlist to it.Lowlander wrote:When testing with 4.0.7.1507 (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 46#p350546) you need to remove the device profile (can be done prior to connected device under Tools > Options > Portable/Audio Devices) to have the change in 1507 take affect for your Galaxy S3: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9518
Can anyone confirm that this does work after removing the device profile (both phone and card if both are present).

As your problem is slightly different you should create a debug log and send it to support so the developers can look into what is causing your specific issue.Tees wrote:but gives the same error when trying to sync a playlist to it.

Waiting to hear if the logs I've already submitted have revealed anything.

This should be fixed in 4.0.7.1509 when released (I'd presume you'd need to remove the Device Profiles to see this).Tees wrote:ow there are two instances called "Android Phone"

I did remove the references to my old phone and now have two 'android device' ones instead. Yes, I did change to M3U mode with no help. WMP has a better time with syncing but is not perfect either btw. I'd like to be able to use MM someday.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 sync
@johnny340 then a debug log will be needed to show why this isn't working for you. Can you also detail what isn't working. What problems does WMP have? If WMP has issues it may indicate the problem lies with the device and not with the software used to sync.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 sync
I thought WMP was working fine and then it started giving the exact same errors as MM. (except the program wouldn't lock up)
When I sync, it knows the files are actually there so it doesn't update however they don't show up on the playlist.
A lot of Album artwork is missing.
When I play a song, sometimes it shows unknown name/artist but the Artwork IS there after it starts playing.
Judging by the space on the Card I'd say the music files are actually on it but not properly as far as playlist and artwork goes.
I actually think there is a problem with the USB driver in Windows 7 for the phone/card. I have problems with other software that requires a connection (Kies, Samsung sync, etc)
When I plug my phone in, sometimes it doesn't show up in my computer but it is under 'safely remove hardware' and other times it is shown in My Computer. Do you have a source for a known good driver for the SGH-I747M (Galaxy S3) phone?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 sync
I don't, but I think this is a wider Samsung problem as I face the same on the Galaxy Note. Both WMP and MediaMonkey fail to sync correctly (above around 50 files), Windows Explorer on 1 machine can't navigate device. Windows Explorer locks up when syncing. Kies caused the device to no longer be recognized. I've tried it on Windows Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows 7 without success.
As for drivers someone contacted Samsung support and was told the following: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 50#p350550

Did you remove the 2 device profiles? After you remove them and let MediaMonkey recreate them things should work better.

How/what does not work?johnny340 wrote:Syncing still doesn't work though...
Make sure you try syncing only a small set of files (with me 40 works every time). So I just create a Playlist of 40 files, sync it and the 40 files with tags and the Playlist show on my Galaxy Note. Sync anything more and it will fail, but it fails in WMP too on 3 different machines (indicating the bug lies with Samsung).

The playlist song listings, album artwork, and missed files are what doesn't work right. I also have triplicates on my card now. My playlists are over 100 songs each though. I haven't tried smaller ones. Yes WMP is having similar errors.
Re: Samsung Galaxy S3 sync
Try deleting the files including Playlists of the device, restart the device, connect to PC and auto-sync a single Playlist of around 40 files. This works fine for me and any further problems would seem to be Samsung bugs.
