AAC M4P silent when played
I'm a new user with registered Gold version 4.1.11.1783 and it appears that all my AAC audio files have come across as M4P. When I play them, they songs are totally silent. The GUI looks like it is playing the songs, but total silence. Any idea what may be happening here?
Re: AAC M4P silent when played
There was indications that on non authorized PCs DRM files will play as silence and only Apple handle that using FairPlay scheme.
Along with above suggestion if all tracks are purchased with iTunes, you should be able to re-download non DRM versions of all tracks if you upload them to iTunes Match, but theer was also reports that apple changed something so that you can't do that anymore and also all your own CD RIPs that you uploaded to iTunes Match are also re-flagged as DRM.
Personally all converted/bought all of my DRM tracks in iTunes as non-drm and started to use other stores for my expanding library.
Try to search internet fro more details.
In order to help you I searched and stumble to this http://9to5mac.com/2015/07/13/how-to-fi ... c-drm-bug/ and http://www.mcelhearn.com/the-real-diffe ... brary-drm/
Now I'm even more glad that I switched to non DRM sources years ago.

Re: AAC M4P silent when played
Thank you both. I will look into that.
I now understand that MM will play these m4p files as silence, but will they sync to an iPhone and play OK? Or will I have the same problem on my iPhone?
Thanks again

Re: AAC M4P silent when played
same here, .m4p plays silent, after downloading Quicktime...
Re: AAC M4P silent when played
As I explained earlier it is normal if DRM is not allowed to third party apps except iTunes.
