iPhone free space not calculated correctly

Post by nanite2000 »

When syncing to my iPhone (iPhone 14 using iOS 17.5.1) MediaMonkey does not correctly calculate the amount of free space on the device.

This is how much free space is on my phone as reported by iOS (the media portion is my music synced from MediaMonkey):

And this is how much free space is calculated by MediaMonkey:

It seems that MediaMonkey does not recognise the 'Synced Media' portion of space reported by the iPhone as the music synced by MediaMonkey, and so is adding the space required to sync from MediaMonkey on top of the total space used on the device.

As you can see, it will shortly report that there is not enough space available on the device to sync new/updated audio and I will be stuck.

I'm using MediaMonkey 5.1.0.2820 on Windows 11 build 22631.3737.

I know this is a beta version of MediaMonkey, but I cannot downgrade to a previous stable release as it contains features I need that are not present in the latest stable release. I also cannot upgrade because the license model has changed and I don't seem to be able to obtain the new license.

How do I go about resolving this issue please? I don't mind upgrading to the latest beta on the new license model, but how do I acquire a new license?

You're using an old beta, so I'd update to the latest 2024 release.

The space bar at the bottom shows the calculated result after Sync with the current selection. It's an estimate as Auto-Convesion may give somewhat different results.

Last time I tried to update my beta (a couple of months ago), I was told there was a new license model and that I would need to acquire a new license.

But there didn't seem to be a way to acquire the new license needed to register the beta version and my current license didn't work.

Has this changed now? How do I go about acquiring the new license?

Yes, the current 5.x license being sold includes 2024 as well.

I just downloaded the latest beta (2024.0.0.3043) but my 5.x license key is not accepted:

Is there a problem with my license? How do I get a compatible license?

My 5.x license is from 2021.

Do I need to purchase another 5.x license?
