New Version- renamed all file locations

Post by EagleScout »

I installed the latest version and in doing so, all of my file location names were changed from the drive letter to [809A-50BB]. All of my files are now inaccessible. How do I fix this?

example:
[809A-50BB]\Music\Pop Rock\B Pop Rock\Billy Joel\Billy Joel - Cold Spring Harbor (1971) [FLAC] 88\08. Tomorrow Is Today.flac

Thanks,
J

You can use re-assign drive to fix.

Are the files on an external or mapped network drive?

In that case, Windows assigned it a different driveID (it shoudn't) and that caused the issue. Re-assign drive is the fix for this.

Sorry, I just realized I moved to new external drive and driveID is now a different location. Does reassign drive still work? I followed the steps but when I select the correct drive, it still doesn't connect to the files. The serial is different thatn the old drive.

Yes, if the Paths on the drive (excluding drive letter) remains the same. If Paths on the drive changed, then you'll need to use Locate Moved/Missing Files instead.

Did you get a drive letter showing for the files after attempting re-assign drive?
