Suggestion Right Click Open With

I use MM as my music organizer. Often while playing a playlist, I will come across a song that I will want to alter with a sound editor (e.g. shorten the length, add an effect, etc.).

It is cumbersome to launch my editor (WavePad), then from within the editor, select FileOpen, and then search through 30,000+directories in explorer to find the file to finally be able to edit it. This often takes me more time than the actual editing I do.

It would be so much quicker and easier to simply right click in the MM playlist and select “Open With”.

What I envision would be a way you could configure the name of the program you want to use to open the file, along with the program’s path, and an option to have MM skip to the next song. The reason to have the option to skip to the next song (assuming there is one) is because in many cases you want to edit the file. If you don’t do the skip, the save from the editor will fail because MM will have a lock on the current song.

I could see this being helpful in other cases like if someone has a specific tag editor they like to use, etc.

As a workaround you may find Find More from Same > Folder (Explorer) useful if you can drag the file into the other application (or use the copied Path).

To avoid having to search through the file tree in the other app, I have been copying the path from properties in MM and pasting it into File-> Open in the editor.

But what you suggest is even easier. It saves a few operations as I can drag and drop from explorer into the editor and it opens the file.

While not as slick as a simple right click, it is better than what I have been doing and is appreciated!
