playlist mixed up bug

Post by railfan-eric »

The playlist mixed up bug is back. several albums are scrambled together. so i spent 5 mins dragging and dropping 20 songs around to put them in order then it scrambled all over again and all the work i just did is all for nothing. I wasn't even done organizing. I complained about this a year or so ago. i don't have the mental energy to keep screwing with this. i want my albums in order by track. but if i use the sorting function then it will change the order i wanted the albums. half the playlist is in order and 3 or 4 albums in the middle of the playlist are scrambled.

finely i got them in order. everytime I move things around the playlist always jumps several albums back up and i have to keep scrolling down to where i was. and sometimes when it jumps around it scrambles the albums in the middle of the playlist. how do we move something around without the playlist keep jumping several albums back up. forcing me to scroll back down to where i was. the jumping back up forcing me to scroll back down has been driving me crazy for 2 years.

OMG i want to yell and scream. i just went to a diff playlist and went back to see if i remembered the sorting and now the albums at the beginning are all scrambled up. dang it. now i have to spent the next two hours trying ot fix it before it syncs to my phone that way. so much for my photo and video projects i have been procrastination on for several weeks. i give up.

now it just scrambled even more albums. half the playlist is trash now. and with duplicate songs on albums that are in order. I didn't even duplicate them. now i have to go in and delete the duplicates that is time consuming. i switched playlists and then back again and now the duplicates are gone. what the hell is going on? there's a gremlin in the software playing mindgames with me. I put music on to help with my anxiety as i have been having bad anxiety and stress today. now instead of feeling better I feel worse and more agitated and worked up.

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using and what View is used when viewing Playlists?

2024.2.2.3222

I can't remember if it's the developer mode. I don't see where it says if it is.

List By Album.

and 322 songs and the first half of the playlist got re scrambled last night so that is a lot of songs to organize. and each time i do it, it glitches again and again causing more to get scrambled.

Have you tried using the List View?

I don't see a List View. I see a List. but when i use List i can't see the album covers and it's still scrambled so i don't know what that is supposed to accomplish. I need this fixed so i can sync several new albums to my phone. I'm getting impatient. music is what helps me get through some days. and to have everything at a standstill waiting to be fixed is driving me nuts. Last time i had this problem the only way i was able to fix it was by sorting the playlist instead of manually rearranging. but some albums i want at the beginning of the playlist or whatever. So it appears the problem was never really fixed and now that i'm manually sorting some albums on some playlists it's messed up again.

We don't know how it got scrambled, but List View may make it easier to rearrange files as rhey were.

I've not encountered issues organiziing files on Playlists. If you can reproduce files becoming scrambled, please capture this in a debug log (step 4b).and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?t=86643

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try using List View to put the files back in the correct order.

If it happens again and I can reproduce it, I’ll capture a debug log and submit it through a Support Ticket as you suggested.

Thanks again for your help!
