Does the Ipaq show up as a removable drive on windows?

If this is so, and you just need to copy the audio files to the Ipaq, then it should sync with it.

Thanks for the response.

No where on my desktop PC is there an Icon/ File etc for my HX 4700 so I am unable to let MM know that I want to have the music from MM sent to the cf card on my HX4700.

I know that I can take the files from my PC and add them directly to my HX 4700 but I wanted to add the files that I have in a file directly from MM to my HX4700.

Is there something that I am missing as there must be many people out there with other than IPODS who want to synx directly with MM.???????

Hey Julian,

I just noticed that you are in Mel. I am a kiwi living in the US and lived in MEL for about 7 years. Really liked MEL a lot. We lived in Elstenwick.

I guess MM won't be able to sync with the device unless you manage to make your PC recognize it (i.e. it shows up as a separate drive in the explorer).

Make sure this is the case (installing drivers shipped with the device or similar).

I have used MusicBox Jukebox and never had to add additional drives. MB recognised that I had an Ipaq on a usb port and automatically download what I wanted it to from a playlist.

I am not too sure nor do a understand how downloading additonal drivers would help.

What is need is for MM to be able to recoginse that there is an additonal accessory hanging off my desktop PC.

Once agin I am quite surprised that this has not come up before especially for all of those PDA's that are out there. :o

This is an old post but I may be able to help!

The HP hx4700 is a mighty fine Pocket-PC and definitely does show up in the explorer list, and has an icon for synching files - this lives on the desktop and in My-Documents. There is a larger than usual memory in the standard device (including a place called "File Store") and it can use SD cards.

All of this requires that Microsoft ActiveSync is installed and configured for "files" during the wizard or afterwards under "Options".
Get ActiveSync here:

Hope this helps anyone browsing the posts or indeed the original enquirer!

Cheers,

Oh, the HP hx4700 also takes CF cards, so it could take a hard disk . . .

It has a splendid 4" 640x480 pixel display! Sadly, no such device displays are available anymore AFAIK.
