Album Art on Sansa e260

Post by Jennuschka »

I have just started using my Sansa, and I must be missing something simple. I am able to rip my CDs and then Auto-Tag it from Amazon (saving image to tag) to obtain the cover art. However, when I sync with my Sansa e260, it doesn't always display the art. What am I doing wrong?

Here's what you have to do:
* Using Sansa's MSC, navigate to the drive letter that the drive is mounted as.
* Find the directory (folder) that has the album/songs you're playing in.
* Resize, if necessary (or whatever) the .JPG so it's 200x200.
* Save the JPG as a file called "AlbumArt.jpg" in that specific folder.

= BOOM = You've Got Album Art.

Is there a known issue involving album art over MTP? My Sansa e260 seems to get SOME album art, but not all. Sure, I can manually add the JPG files in MSC mode, but the MTP mode works sometimes. It'd be nice if it worked all the time, but I don't know whether this is a quirk of MTP, MM, or the Sansa.

I guess you are using MM3 Alpha, right?
There seems to be a small bug in syncing with Album Arts.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

No, I'm using the last 2.x release build (998?). Some of the other posts that I've found imply (but don't state with any authority) that the art embedded in the MP3 files may be too large at times. Maybe 32kb is the upper limit for transferring the images, but again - no authoritative source that I've seen.

Yes, the image size could be an error source too.
I thought I read something like that in the manual (or anywhere else  )
