I haven't had the error happen since the initial times, I don't think the playlist was wrong as I haven't changed it from default favorites top 50.

I did run with the newer version disabled for a while, then some time later I reenabled it and ran without errors.

:-?

The only thing I think the script is missing is some way to prevent songs you don't like from playing (sometimes repeatedly).

Preferably it would be tied to ratings, ie never enqueue a track with 2 or less stars.

I find it infinately annoying that sometimes (due of course to last.fm's recommendations) I get a few certain tracks that play quite often... of which I either didn't like to begin with, or that they played once too often and got on my 'bad side'!

Also one change I would like to see is being able to set the replay timer more than 300 minutes, previously in 1.1 I had it set to 600 with no problems, however it seems that the options sheet limits this to 300 and I havent figure out yet where to change it in the script itself.

I would like to see availablity of "No repeats for hours, days, weeks" instead of minutes...

Edit: I found the 300 limit, its hiding in the autostart script "scrobblerdjconfig.vbs" ...

I changed mine to 900 max ! :o

v1.21 (bug fixing) out

Post by psyXonova »

Ok, new version (1.21) has been released that fixes the problem.
Basically it was a file replace problem, i accidentally replaced my file with the Default playlist check with the one that Peke sent me... Next time i will pay more attention to what i am doing ...
Now the playlist checking should not cause any problems, since both Peke and I have updated the relevant parts of the code.

New version has been posted. See below

I get this error everytime. When I go to options and click scrobbler.

Error #424 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Object required: 'Sheet.Common.ChildControl(...)'
File: 'C:\Program Files\-=My Install=-\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\Scrobbler.vbs", Line 155, Column: 2

And when i play music i get this.

Error #13 - Microsoft VBScript runtime erroe
Type mismatch: 'Cint'
File: 'C:\Program Files\-=My Install=-\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\Scrobbler.vbs", Line 25, Column: 1

Anyway to fix this problem?

I got the same error as well. The trick is to goto the options and enter a playlist that you have. After fiddling around a bit you will succeed. Then restart MM and it works.

Stealing Focus

Post by srweal »

I just loaded up ScrobblerDJ today and am enjoying the variety of music it is choosing for me (based on the initial seed song I give it).

My only complaint is that whenever it connects to Last.FM and looks up a new song, it shifts the 'focus' from the main program I am working in (e.g. Visual Studio, MS Word).

Can anyone suggest how I can stop this happening?

TimeOut

Post by srweal »

Oh, just one another annoyance with the way this script works. When the service times out, an error box appears, again stealing the focus. Instead of this, can the script continue to try for a connection at some regular interval?

These are minor things in what is otherwise a great script. Just need Last.FM to become a bit more complete, as it is having trouble finding all the Australian artists I listen to!

yea had a couple time outs interupt the music tonite, would be swell if a time out just called a random track from the default playlist...

@ srweal the script does not steal the focus for me, perhaps your not running the latest beta/RC2 ?

or maybe something configured wrong on the scripting host.

From the error messages is obvious that not only you changed the location where the script should install but also its filename. The specific file should be name ScroblerDJ.vbs (and not Scrobbler.vbs) and should be placed inside the scripts folder (and not Scripts\Auto folder). I suggest deleting all files that are related with the ScrobbleDJ and also the related Scripts.ini settings and do a fresh install of the ScrobblerDJ using the installer provided. This time dont cahnge anything else. Try this and tell me if still errors occur

This is because the options have not been set, so line 25 tries to convert an empty string into an integer, which is the error you are receiving.

I'm not sure when these values should be filled in, but have you tried going to the "Tools, Options" panel and changing some of the numbers for ScrobblerDJ. This should cause the settings to be saved which should fix your problem.
