This is the first time I've posted on the MM board, and I have to say that I'm more disappointed in the harsh criticism of the developers that I am with the fact that I'm forced to use iTunes. Give the guys a break and be patient people. They obviously make a product you like, and the person you really have a issue with is Mr. Jobs. I still have a 3G, and from what I'm hearing about the iPhone 4, it's turning out to be a big problem for many people. I'm already seriously considering moving to a Droid X because AT&T sucks so bad where I am. I drop calls and have no service in numerous areas where I live, and I'm in the Bay Area, not the boonies.

Just like many people here I've been forced to use iTunes since the iOS 4 update. I've was debating downgrading to an earlier firmware until I found out I wouldn't be able to sync my contacts and calender with Outlook. So I've had to accept that for the meantime I'll have to use the cumbersome and clunky iTunes interface to sych some music. Oh well. I'm sure the guys here at MM know how restless everyone here is to get back to their software, and working on the fix diligently. I don't see how hurling venom at them is going to make the process go faster. Just take a breath, loosen your sphinchters and maybe meditate in silence for a change. As a people we're generally too plugged in anyway.

On an another note, I checked out the Droid X today and I have to say it's very impressive. The interface was cool, and I loved the fully functional camera. Since I'm not a big app user, the iPhone 4 doesn't appeal to me as much, and I really need a carrier that actually carries calls. The screen looks gorgeous and it's huge, and the whole unit is really only slightly larger than my iPhone. Plus, I don't imagine it will have issues synching with MM everytime they update their software.

For all of you iPhone 4 users here, I really hope Steve has some signifigant news for you in his press conference tomorrow. It looks like a recall if I ever saw one. Microsoft is calling the iPhone 4 "Apple's Vista". That's pretty good, except Vista pretty much sucked completely, with or without duct tape.

iOS4.0.1 has been released, hopefully it doesn't break the fix that is in the works for MediaMonkey.

onyxius wrote:hehe to the apple lovers or more so those those who do love itunes, since os4 has been out there have been a lot of people who can't even sync with itunes at the moment and that is me included, you know you pay extra money for the stupid apple care program and apple doesn't care to get the issue resolved. I spent hours on the phone with apple trying to figure out why my iphone 4 won't sync with itunes and crashes when it syncs every time. They have no idea how to fix it, at least with mm i can do more with my music then with retarded itunes. And yea im new to MM.

Anyway, i still haven't seen a date mentioned so I am guessing its one of those, it will be done when its done? :)

here is the ongoing thread im in and a crap load of others with syncing issues with itunes i was talking about.

Can't sync with iTunes? I cannot even import my library on iTunes Takes days for itunes to scour the disk on a network drive. I will live with my playlists that are on my iPhone now. Hopefully the devs will get things worked out soon.

just been reading through this post and blimery there are some narrow minded twerps around.

48-72 hrs to write compatible apps FOR THE MOST BASIC OF BASIC GAMES AND APPS. If it's that simple why did it take eBay till this week to write a compatible app and why have I been getting apps updating virtually everyday since IOS was released??!!

In the words of Jim Royle (UK sitcom for you overseas forum members) - 72 hours MY AR**.

Do you actually realise what this software has to do? And how protective and secretive Apple is. Do you know why iTunes is so abysmal on PC's? Because their attitude is it's built for their own product - Mac's. So if you decide to use a PC tough luck. Despite the fact the majority of the connected world is using PC's. So dont expect IOS4 to be released and everything to magically work. Hey - the iphone 4 itself doesn't even work properly.

Yes it's annoying not being able to sync music but in the meantime use half a brain and download one of the apps that lets you stream music directly off your PC and use that wonderful 3g network to hook up to your PC when you're out and about and get access to your whole music collection.

And if you actually get the latest version of iTunes to work and let you put music in then let me know. Once my music collection got past 50gb iTunes became totally unusable. But you dont see half as aggressive attitudes towards their developers.

So we finally have an update from MM. Good job!
While I appreciate the developers are working these a$$ off to get the fix out. I do think they should have communicated what the time frames were likely to be.
Daily, or at least weekly updates should have been posted on this site. Even if that update is, "Sorry still no ETA we haven't cracked the code yet" at least MMs customers would have felt something was happening. A better example would be, "Fix is still more than 2 weeks away.""
It would take someone at MM 1 minute to post an update each day.

I'm fairly new to MM, from what I've seen of the product it looks like it's excellent. But from what I've seen from their customer service, it looks awful.
Like I said, for the sake of 1 minute a day posting an update, MM could have been excellent all round but instead they come across like a charity or a couple of kids coding in their spare time.
So sort out your communication with your customers MM because it really damages your reputation and great product.

no, Lowlander, it only counts if the update is hand-delivered in singing telegram form. Us busy iPhone users can't be bothered to actually read, you know.

no, not really. jiri made that post on friday. a few days, to me, means 3 days. so, if we exclude the weekend (even coders need a break!!) then that takes us to the middle of this week at the earliest.
