I am using the latest beta (b3034) and having issue with the volume adjusting (dropping in my case) during play to external server /receiver. The drop occurs sometime after 2:15 of play, usually around 2:40.. In my case the volume is decreasing and remains until the end of the track. The volume is back to normal at the start of the next track in the queue and will again drop sometime after 2:15. The same files play fine when played to internal speakers.
I tested MM5 5.0.4.2490 with the same files. The build works with no issue.

Re: Playback volume drops when playing to external receiver
Hi,
Can you try disabling Leveling and/or crossfading tracks in Play menu?

Re: Playback volume drops when playing to external receiver
I disabled in the Play menu, but still the same issue. However, I did find another leveling flag that was set under the server options menu. I unchecked that flag and then had no problem.
It is really confusing though as to why the volume would adjust over 2 minutes into a 4 or 5 minute track. Shouldn't the system be analyzing before playback begins (analyze tracks has actually already been performed) and crossfade shouldn't be beginning half way through a track. Levels and crossfade seems to work as expected when playing to internal device.

Hi,
Hmmm, interesting. Can you please make steps now that you know what triggers it so that we can try to replicate and fix the issue.
I tried and could not replicate on whatever settings I tried on my PC.

Re: Playback volume drops when playing to external receiver
Peke, it only happens when playing to external device. Playback is fine internally.
The level volume flag under the server options auto-conversion menu is the one that is causing the issue. Unchecking that flag resolves the issue even though I only have FLAC and CDA ticked for conversion and the files being played are standard MP3 files.
Point of clarity, as I misspoke on one thing. "Also, the volume level had already been analyzed in the library." is inaccurate. I analyzed volume on my entire library long ago, but somehow, probably late addition, these track are not analyzed or leveled. Sorry for the confusion.
I have confirmed the issue under the following conditions:
1. Tracks are NOT analyzed in the tags.
2. The crossfade and level volume tick on the main Play menu have no impact on the issue.
3. The level volume when sharing audio tick box, found under the Media Sharing > Auto-Conversion section, is the trigger.
4. Issue occurs during playback between 2:15 and 2:50 minutes into playing the track to external receiver. Tracks play fine internally.
5. Each track resets at the start, so the entire 'Playing' queue is not analyzed at once. Every track starts at normal audio level and then drops /adjusts in the time frame noted above
It would seem that MM is busy analyzing volume for the first couple of minutes of playback and then applies its determination part way through playback of each track when playing to external receiver.

Re: Playback volume drops when playing to external receiver
Hi,
I am trying to replicate, but I am unable so far, also checking the code and I don't see a reason for such a behaviour...
Could you please test whether the issue occurs also for tracks that already have the album/track volume analyzed?
