Since switching to Media Monkey, I realize that while there are some great features that I never had before, some of the simplest actions are impossible.
I have transferred some of my music to my Jukebox using MM and find that I need to change some of the tracks now that they are in my Jukebox. With the CL organizer, I could freely change any kind of track info whether it was in the library or in the player. Now I can't seem to do this with MM.
Here's what I normally do. Rather than use playlists, I segregate my music by genre. I use genre names like 70's, electronic, chill, Christmas, etc. and play an entire genre at a time on random/shuffle. I assign the genres to the music and change the track properties when I upload tracks from cds or download from the internet, and before I transfer them to the Jukebox.
Sometimes, I decide while listening to a track that it should be under a different genre. In the Creative software, I could simply connect the player, display the contents, and edit any track at any time.
Now, when I connect my player to MM, I can see what I have transferred to it... and I can change the track info (tag info) on screen... but it doesn't change in the player. I can't move a track from one folder to another, and I can't change any of the properties. Also, I can't just view a list of all of the tracks in the player. I can only see tracks by opening folders. What a pain that is.
Do I have to delete tracks that need to be edited and then re-transfer them or is there something I'm not doing? That doesn't make sense for an organizing tool that supposed to be ideal for large collections.
