Synchronize Tags Fails On AAC

Post by Metazargo »

Hello

I added some albums using the AAC plug-in trial for some time. I used AAC.

These AAC files do reappear when scanning for unsynchronized tags. Syncing again, CTRL-S doesn't help. The files remain untouched (change date) since the day of the import.

I've purchased now the AAC plug-in, but the problem remains. I've searched all other hints including this http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... 99&nav=0,5. I also installed the latest version of MediaMonkey.

I had once a similar problem with WMA files, where I had to install the right Windows Media Player. This time I've got no clue.

Thanks for help

Changes 20110214: Removed ' and Some M4A/MP4', where it seems that these are simply some completely broken files, where alls the other files of the type M4A/MP4 work well.

Tagging AAC was never supported at all. There is no AAC tagging standard.

Ouch! I haven't paid attention, would be nice to inform about this on the AAC plug-in page.

I'm happy that I abandoned ACC importing after the trial period.

Now I have to re-import those 30 albums. Or is there a lossless way to change those into M4A files?

Thanks.

Try Simple File Rename.

MM really dislike changing the filename from AAC to M4A by editing the path in list or edit mode, it creates 2KB files without asking, even when I rename the file outside MM and play it, MM corrupts the file :o

But of course MM has SHIFT-CTRL-C, convert audio! I transform in place which also writes the tags. Now as M4A files the changes of tags are synced to the file.

Six and a half years later and I find myself following in the path of Metazargo. Purchased AAC conversion pack, began ripping albums to MM (format AAC), only to find simple filenames with no information in my music folder. After half a decade, is there still no way to use the higher quality format *AND* tag our files?

You can use higher quality including FLAC, ALAC and WMA Lossless. However AAC itself has no tagging standard, use M4A (ALAC M4A in MM) instead if you want tagging support.
