My wife usually gets her audiobooks from Audible. But I just got her one on CD, so she wants to rip it to MM. Each chapter is a different track.
Normally, I rip albums as <album>/ <Track#:2> <Title> , but I see that's going to be a mess. I would love to put double albums into one folder, but don't usually bother. Not a big deal.
But in this case, it's 8 CDs! I'm pretty sure all the chapters should be in one folder, and numbered in a such a way that they play in order on her ipod. Any idea of the best way to handle this ?
I don't even mind doing it all manually. I just don't want to do it twice.
Thanks.

Re: Audiobook multiple CD question
The way I see you you have two options:
<Album>\<Disc#>_<Track#> - <Title>
or
<Album>\<Track#> - <Title>
In the second scenario just incorporate the disc# into the track number, so use for example:
101
102
103
...
201
202
...
301
etc.

Re: Audiobook multiple CD question
You can change <Disc#> to $if(<Disc#>,<Disc#>_) so it will only add it to the filename if Disc# is known.

Re: Audiobook multiple CD question
Sorry, I've been out ot town a while. So the CD# is incorporated into the album, but it's not consistent. Also, I'm having trouble with the tags, which come up OK from FreeDB, but disappear when I try to edit the Directory Mask. So It'll take a bunch of manual intervention.
But at least I know what it needs to look like when I'm done.
Thanks! Much appreciated.

Re: Audiobook multiple CD question
Actually, this is weird and I can't imagine why?
It fills in the Album and the titles. Then when I go to rip it, the Album switches to "Unknown' and one of the titles disappears after about 4 seconds.
Frustrating....

Re: Audiobook multiple CD question
Holiday followup:
So using Nohitters method, I ended up with
101...
102...
103...
201...
...
701...
702... etc.
Took some manual doing because the tags on the CDs were inconsistent, and on the 7th disc, missing. but it was worth it. When I played it with MM it worked perfectly.
So just yesterday my wife got around to putting it on her ipod Nano. You guessed it - it wanted to play them in alphabetical order of the Chapter Name. Tried changing the type from audiobook to music; that made it play randomly. It had no idea of the track# or name. Apparently there is a bug in the ipod that does this anyway with albums
Deleted the tracks and re-synched them as a Playlist. Problem solved. Works perfectly. Just in time for her new car stereo.
Thanks guys for your help!
