MediaMonkey Audio Effects/DSP Plug-ins

DSP plug-ins generally enhance and/or modify the audio in some way. Several basic DSP plug-ins are included with MediaMonkey by default (e.g. DeFX karaoke plug-in), while many others are available for download. Shown below are some of our favorite Audio Effects. MediaMonkey is generally compatible with Winamp plug-ins written for Winamp 2, and a broader range of plug-ins is available from the Winamp Plug-ins site.

DFX DSP plug-in

Plug-in : DFX
Description : DFX is a fantastic piece of software that compensates for some of the deficiencies of playing compressed audio via a PC. It produces deep rich bass sound, helps restore audio depth, eliminates the 'muffled' sound of MP3s, and generally creates a more pleasant and natural audio experience. Originally written for Winamp, it gives MediaMonkey a tremendous boost in sound quality--worth checking out.. Note that 3D surround effects are disabled in the free version.

Pacemaker DSP plug-in

Plug-in : PaceMaker
Description : Pacemaker is a plug-in that allows you to modify tempo, pitch, or speed of your audio without affecting other variables. For example, if you want to use it for karaoke, you can change the pitch of a tune to match your voice, or you can speed up the music without changing the pitch of the sound and dance to your favorite love tunes.

Note: To install a plug-in, it needs to be installed or copied to the MediaMonkey Plugins sub-directory (usually C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Plugins), and then MediaMonkey needs to be restarted. If the plug-in comes with its own installer, make certain to set the path correctly. If it doesn't have an installer or the installer fails, just copy the file(s) to the \Plugins directory.
