Re: Lifetime License Key No Longer Valid
See: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/79/0/my-license-key-isnt-working--is-invalid Both Username and Key need to be exactly as provided. Yes, thanks, rechecked that page a moment ago and realized my user name was different from my login. Quick tip if any pro...

Re: Lifetime License Key No Longer Valid
I've resolved this. My fault - was entering a login rather than my user name. This page was helpful: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... is-invalid

Lifetime License Key No Longer Valid
I have a lifetime license, from Element 5 order no. 307679885, 12/6/09. All of a sudden my license key is now considered invalid. I found this out when trying to convert FLAC to mp3; the program stated mp3 conversion is unavailable beyond a 30-day trial period and then when I went to enter in the li...

Podcasts not updating/downloading
Hi MediaMonkey users! I've been away for a while but am getting back into the program. I've just added some podcasts by pasting their URLs into the subscription dialog and I can see the podcasts listed under "Podcasts" in the tree. However no episodes are showing up -- I've tried updating all, updat...

Re: Install multiple instances of MediaMonkey
Hello MM users, I hope I am not resurrecting a dead thread inappropriately for this question, but it seemed the right topic. I would like to run two instances of MM 4 for a time not in order for playback but rather only to allow me to copy track titles from one album to another, without having to na...

Re: Tips on improving performance with a large library?
Tried defragging and it appeared I was already without frag. Nevertheless Defraggler looks good, thanks for that tip.
Having spent a bit more time with MM this morning it really does seem that optimization made a substantial improvement. So thanks again. Cheers,
SB

Re: Tips on improving performance with a large library?
Optimization did make a big difference, however it's still not "optimal." How do I defrag the DB file? Thanks again, SB

Re: Tips on improving performance with a large library?
Yes, but not in quite a while, a good tip, thank you. What does it do precisely?

Tips on improving performance with a large library?
I am about at my wits' end with my laptop computer's incompetence in dealing with MM4's demands. It is constantly going into a "(not responding)" mode, slowing down, crashing, taking forever to "read in" the selected node, etc. I am wondering if there are any tips I might try before junking this com...

Re: Party Mode & Shuffle
Thanks for the reply. I'm still not seeing it though for some reason. In Tools>Options>Party Mode, I have NOT checked "Disable Player Controls and Track reordering." Should that do it? I don't think it does though. I still don't see an option to turn shuffle on or off once I am inside Party Mode.

Party Mode & Shuffle
Any way to configure Party Mode so that Shuffle on/off remains an option? When I enter Party Mode I seem to be stuck in whatever Shuffle setting I had when I went in. I'd like to be able to move in and out of Shuffle from time to time if necessary while still retaining the file protection Party Mode...

MM is switching drive location for certain tracks.
Unfortunately I couldn't even figure out how to search for this topic efficiently, so apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. On my laptop, my library is spread across three portable drives. Two are WD "My Passport" drives, which I've marked with letters X and Y. On the X drive, I h...

Re: Question re Album Titles
OK, thanks, there certainly is an easy work-around, as you say, so it isn't a major issue.

Question re Album Titles
In my classical music collection, I have many albums with the same name (e.g. "Beethoven: Symphonies"). If look through the album node they are listed separately according to album artist (e.g. "Beethoven: Symphonies (Herbert von Karajan)." However, if I am sorting through the three-box previewer, w...

Re: MM doesn't see files ripped with DB Poweramp
Didn't see this mentioned above -- make sure add/scan in MM is set to include the type of file you created with dBpoweramp.
There shouldn't be any compatibility issue with dBpoweramp and MM -- I've used them both for a couple years without ever having a problem in MM3 or 4.
