How do I check that?
The Services windows shows "Local System" under "Log On As"
The "LogOn" tab has "Local System Account" checked.
When I installed it as a service I ran MM as an administrator and used the administrator password when asked by MM.

MediaSharing as a service? [#11274]
I am trying to run the latest beta on my WHS 2011 box to act as a media server. MM installs and runs fine. The UPnP/DLNA server is available if MM is running. I am able to install it as a service using the "Install as a service" button. The service is installed and looks to be running howe...

Best player for iOS?
If you chose "Other" please post what player you use in a response. I am looking for something that provides the most "Music" app like experience without having to use iTunes on the PC.

Re: remote DLNA access?
I figured it out. I didn't realize that the address was case sensitive. I was typing devicedescription.xml where it should have been DeviceDescription.xml
Thank you for your help. With your feedback I at least knew I wasn't trying to do the impossible.

Re: remote DLNA access?
I hadn't tried with DeviceDescription.xml before but that doesn't work either. The port is forwarded in my router. and I can access other services I have forwarded through other ports.

The webhelp for DLNA states: Be aware of the following issues when enabling external access: You'll need to configure the DLNA client to connect to http://<Network IP address>:<Port#>/DeviceDescription.xml So it won't work with domian names only IP? What do I use for DeviceDescription.xml? I am tryi...

Re: Performance In MM4
where is your mm.db file located? Local drive or Network? I am having similar issues but only when using a shared network location for the db file. In my case \\SERVER\Resources\MediaMonkey\MM.DB. When the file is stored locally DB task are lightning quick. My DB file is ~80MB and the library contai...

UNskinned mediamonkey.exe doesn't start up DLNA server?
As the subject states in my limited testing it appears that the mediamonkey(unskinned).exe doesn't run the DLNA server. Is there a reason for this? This appears to be the case with 1459 and 1461. I haven't tested any others.

Re: MM4 often becomes unresponsive
Exactly. Rescanning the directories at startup over a network will obviously take longer. I don't understand why MM 4 basically becomes unresponsive for minutes at a time.
