My wife just got an iPad mini, and I know nothing about IOS, so I am hoping someone can point me to a page or supply instructions on what I need to do in order to transfer music from MM4 to the iPad.

Do you have Windows Media Player installed? If so, does it show up as a UPnP server? I am wondering if there is a conflict there.

The 4.1 beta did not work. It has to have something to do with MM4 running on Win8 because when the MM 4.x server was running on Win7 the Win8 tablet could see the MM4 server. I don't remember if the Win8 tablet could see WMP as a UPnP server or not, but it does now, so I don't think it has anything ...

Sorry, that was a typo. I do have MM 4.0.7.1511 on the Win8 "UPnP Server" box.

Nope, I also allowed all IGMP In/Out in my personal firewall and that did not do it either.

Will MM8 act as a UPnP server? I ask because since installing windows 8 on my machine, I can't get my tablet to see MM 4.x as a UPnP server.

I realized I asked the question incorrectly.

What I was really wanting to know is... can I "scan folders" in MM8 using the same folders I use with MM 4.x and have the music files remain where they are without having 2 copies of the files in different locations?
