Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
Many thanks, the scans are as fast as they used to be.

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
I found the reason why its so slow.
I have in every drawer the artwork for that album. Usually only the cover as a JPG size 1400x1400. When i delete these 300-350 jpgs the rescan only takes 5sec.

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
MM5.db has after optimization the size of 233MB. So I did a portable installation of 3209 and didn't import any settings from an old installation and used the default preferences. Initial scan needed 4min, the rescan 2:30min. https://1drv.ms/u/c/bae5db40241ac824 ...

ruebennase56: Can you please generate new debug log for me with rescan of files (on your current installation, where you experience slow rescans - i.e. scans of files already present in your DB). Note, that with DbgView running you cannot measure time, because logging slows things down a lot. Test ...

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
I always install the new builds on top of the old ones. (no change in speed with build 3209)

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
Even with the changes in options a rescan still takes about 45min :'( Do you have DbgView running? Sending debug messages also slow things down a lot. Then in case you have checked option "Update file info from tags when rescanning files" you should have also "Only for files with changed timestamp ...

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
Build 3206 is as slow as build 3203. Just noticed the reason - you have "Analyze files for duplicates" in Library options set ON! This option causes, that MM has to compute checksum from the contents of each file and it needs significantly more time, as it reads a lot more data for every file. Try ...

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
I just timed it with 57.294 flacs: Build: 3194 Time: 25sec Build: 3203 Time: 45min 25sec for 3194, that seams impossible, I tested with Windows CMD DIR /S on my folder with aprox 80k and just listing took >1min. Also can you please start re-scan on 3203 and leave it for 5min and save the log file ...

Re: Initial scan taking too long [#21916]
Re-scans of folders with little or nothing changed since the previous scan used to be MUCH faster before the 3200 & 3201 releases. Which is when I first noticed the increased scan times. 3201 is much better than 3200, but still not like prior releases. A first time scan used to take a while, as ...

MM 2024 and Windows on ARM
Hello to everybody,
I'm thinking of buying a Microsoft Surface Tablet with a "Snapdragon X Plus" or "Elite" CPU. Has anybody any experience with that and how well or bad is MM5 running on that system?
Greetings
Andreas
