out of sheer accident i found out that winamp tends to be twice as loud in volume as mediamonkey. Is there a louder output for the inbuilt mediamonkey player? now matter what settings i change i can't get it anywhere near winamp's volume, and i don't particularly want to use winamp as my player ...

hehe i'm not too sure on how entropy exists in computing, but nothing is perfect =). I'm quite happy to go from wav to flac or wav to shn, but further conversions between formats i feel is bound to have some loss even if minimal or unnoticable
