Mass renaming tracks based on track properties

Post by rsherid »

Is there a way to mass rename tracks, or filenames, based on track properties?

Thanks. I now just have three things:

1.) I'm now trying to install this skin, but I keep getting an "Invalid product installation package" error.

I renamed the .zip to .mmip and it still isn't working.

2.) Is there a cross-fade option?

3.) Is there a search box within MediaMonkey the way you can search with iTunes?

Installing a MediaMonkey 3.0 extension sometimes results in:
"Product installation error."
This occurs on Vista systems when the user attempting to install the extension does not have Administrative rights.

To get around this, log in with Administrative rights, run MediaMonkey,
and then attempt to install the Extension.

I'm not using Vista and I'm the only user on this computer. Anything else it could be?

I just tried to download the skin you linked, and it appears corrupted on the server. Morten will need to update or replace the file on his server.

edit:

I tried again, right click and 'save as' then open the zip file and drag the 'itunes' folder to the \program files\mediamonkey3\skins\ folder

Thank you! It worked visually, but the actual player (play/pause/back/next buttons) doesn't seem to want to work. Do yours work with this skin?

Download the version listed here.

In the meantime, I'll update the wiki...

Thanks again. Is there a way to keep a folder's files expanded instead of only being able to see 7 tracks at a time?

When mass renaming (Tools > Auto-Organize Files), why doesn't it work if you've changed paths?

Not quite sure what you mean. It should work for changed paths and filenames. What exactly is the problem you're seeing?

Also, why can't I select album when choosing Tree nodes? It has an asterisk by it for some reason (Album*).

Nevermind, I didn't see that you had to choose a new path from the drop-down menu

Do you mean when choosing columns? Album is available from the tree nodes.
