Removing Active X control for moodbar

Post by Macarena »

Hi everybody,

did anybody successfully remove the Active X control for moodbar in MM?

I have a fresh installation of WinXP. Downloaded the necessary updates for WinXP including a requested Active X control. So, I assume, it has to be running on most of legal computers. When MM runs moodbar and wants to display the moodbar.png, IE shouts about some danger when running Active X control with the content of the page. It's very irritating, because this way the start-up of MM is at least two steps: start and kill the message [Y/N].

I looked through the Microsoft pages and found this http://support.microsoft.com/?id=240797, but honestly -- I have already now at the fresh install tens of entries in the pointed registry place.

Thank you for any hint.

Hello! I'm very excited with this script, but I experience a few problems. Moodbar stays blank (i read all posts and i installed qtgui and qtcore, so command line works, but moodbar stays blank even is .mood exists). Additionnally, here is my log, kinda messed up in my opinion ;)

Hey there.

Launched moodbar.exe from cli : it now sits somewhere in memory, using like 50% cpu for what looks like a couple of weeks starting today.

The goal is to get the image to display in MM, which is not the case right now : The panel displays the "calculating..." icon while no calculation is done (appart from the one launched from cli).

Question: did someone manage to get from this "non working-no error message" state to a working state?

Hopefully we will sort this out before the 50.000+ songs are "moodbared" :)

Thanks.

Well well ... I guess some of us are stuck here :)

I have the exact same situation as the post above : script runs without any error message, moodbar.exe runs fine in a cmd box, analyzing each song in 3~4 seconds. Should take about two full days to have the whole library analyzed; png and moodfiles stored in songs folders. Some errors do print, depending on analyzed file (wrong bitrate mostly).

Meanwhile nothing shows in the panel.

Log file :

From 13:20 thru 20:14, the script logged 100.000 identical entries.

Restarting MM with a song already analyzed, I have and error message complaining about line#143, required object 'sdb.player.currentsong'

Code: Select all

142#If sdb.inifile.stringvalue("Moodbar","TempDir") = "-1" Then
143# GetImageDir = fso.GetParentFolderName(sdb.player.currentsong.path) & "\"
144#	Else
145#	GetImageDir = sdb.inifile.stringvalue("Moodbar","TempDir")
146#	End if
147#	sdb.IniFile.StringValue("moodbar","uptodate") = oldval
I seem to be unable to debug this. Someone ?

Notes:
  • when MM exits with an analyzed song in current queue (png and mood files present in folder), png will display at next launch.
bar gets blanked (analyzing) when dragging panel
    same at playback start.
png file in folder has mp3 file name. After playing back with script ON, png file disappears and a new one shows in folder with name 'mood_-1.png'
Every png file gets erased this way, last played bears 'mood_-1.png' as new name and overwrites previous one.
Maybe someone has already experienced this behaviour ?

Thanks
Rojer.

Hi! I'm sorry that i haven't addressed any of these problems but for some reason i am not receiving any notifications about this thread and i'm no able to log into the forum with my firefox 3 rc2.... Which is kind of frustrating...

I'll try to take a look into your problems the next few days, but it's summer so i can't promise anything ;-)

Hmm, are you using the latest version of mediamonkey? An older version had a bug where if would assign a track ID of -1 to the first song you played when starting MM which interfeered with many scripts and the mood_-1.png might indicate that that might be one of the problems. As to why you don't get the image displayed if it is in the same folder i don't know. I'll add some debugging info to the script and post it later today.

hey Red,

MM reports 3.0.3.1164. Since it's set to autoupdate, I did not care to check. Will do.

I can definitely switch to a more complete debug mode and post the result here. I am tired of just using great scripts and doing so little, if anything, to bring something into the pot :)

Meanwhile, moodbar keeps running in the backgroud to get the 50.000 moods. It will hang every few hours though, and report funny errors (usually right after launch). Might come from my hardware or windows but I doubt so.

Has someone managed to mood-analyze a large library through command line with no/few errors?

Yeah i'm definitely not able to log in from home :-)

I've added some debug into this release. If you are stuck with the uptodate message in the log try reloading the moodbar (right-click on the bar and select refresh from the menu) then tell me if it helped.

Send me the logs in any case.

This version will also keep the moodber closed if it was closed when you left mediamonkey

Tell me how it works out for you.

Regards,
Red

moodbar 2008.06.13

Fixes:
- Extra logging
- Keeps Moodbar closed if it was closed on exit

This was such an amazing script, but I can't find a way to make it work in MM's most recent version on Win 7 64.
Has anyone find a way to make it work ?
If not, is there another script that would allow to have a visual representation of the soundwave of a song and to navigate through it ?
