Ipod 5.5g Won't Shuffle Playlists Over 40,000 Songs

I'm using windows XP Service Pack 2

Ok sorry for the delay. Go to Start -> Run, then type "regedit" (no quotes).

1) Find:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/MediaMonkey/Device/iPod/{Serial number here}/

Right click, Create a DWORD value: EnableM3UConfiguration

2) Set the value to '1'

I'm likely going to get an upgraded 240gb Ipod 5.5g as well - any further updates on your use since this thread? Anyone figured out the number of tracks which starts to cause problems?

For starters, Rockbox works with an automatic installation on the 240 gb ipod. (needed to recompile in the past)

I think that the main issue is the amount of memory on the ipod. It simply gets filled up. That is why there is no specific number that people can come up with. I personally run into issues around 55k songs or so.

Are you using Rockbox or the stock firmware? Have you done anything to the iPod database file - I've seen where you can trim some fields in order to fit more songs.
