Post by jacq »

I'v tryed to setup the Kernel Streaming output plugin but the program freezed everytimes.

I'v been told that it may improve the sound quality.

The same here.
I've tried the last version of MM, but when I copy the kernel streaming in the plugin directory MM doesn't start any more.
I'm on W7 Pro 64 bit.
I've tried also to run MM as administrator, but nothing happens.
If I remove the dll, MM starts normally.
Is a UAC issue? Is for the 64 bit version? What can I do?
Many thanks!

I guess that plugin is not MM compatible, look for something else (like ASIO plugin).

Thank you for your answer!
But why many people use this plug-in without problem?

I've read about the KS here.

Maybe you should ask there then.

out_ks363 is working fine for me with regular sound card (no HDMI). I didn't rename any dll.

Try starting MediaMonkey as adminstrator. Without, MediaMonkey doesn't recognize my M-Audio, as administrators, it does.

I have been using this plug in without a hitch using Windows XP for a long time. I recently purchased a netbook which runs under Windows 7 Starter. On this system I am encountering the same problem ( using the same versikon of MM3) as described in this thread. I managed to get MM3 to continue by running the Task Manager and stopping an error message that was being generated at MM start-up. Once in I checked the Tools Options Output Plugins and discovered that the KS363 configuration could not locate an output device.

I am a novice with Windows 7 but does the above give anyone any clues as to a solution?

Regards to all.

I just switched over to using out_ks363 with MM3 on WinXP/64-bit. (I had been using out_asio(dll), but had some problems where it apparently was causing a hang in MM3 under certain situations.) When I look at the KS363 configuration dialog, the "Output Device" list appears empty. It is not empty! The items in it are invisible, however, which is a pain if you have more than one output device. Click at the top of the listbox, and a selection indicator will appear.

If you have more than one device, then the only thing you can do is try the first selection and see if it plays; if not, go back to the configuration device and click the next slot down, and try again.

I don't remember the details, but I had some issue with KS363 a couple years ago when I was first setting up MediaMonkey to play thru my stereo. I'm not sure if I switched to ASIO because of this device-display problem or if I had some more fundamental issue. I don't remember any problems of errors being thrown as described above.
Right now, tho, I'm using KS in both MM and WinAmp.

Speaking of ks363 on my WinXp 32bit machine it works well with 44.1/16 files but it gives off a loud static noise with 96/24.
Anyone know why? 96/24 is native resolution of my sound card.

ASIO is not an option for me it is hugely unstable.
