multiple computers, licensing question

Post by mact »

I have 3 computers (all W7). My wife's, my "work box", and my playbox. The library sits on a NAS mapped as a local drive on each of the computers.

I bought MM Gold for my playbox. The $25 package. (can I upgrade to the $50 package for an additional $25? within what time frame?)

Planning to install the freebie version on wife's box and my work machine...accessing the same library.

Is this kosher per the eula? Any manipulation of the library would be done via the playbox.

Thanks. I am quite tickled with MM and have uninstall ALL Apple software from my PCs.<G>

You can use the Gold License on up to 3 of your own machines: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=86

OK. Great that the pro license works on 3 boxes.

But can a freebie version still access the same library? Like the netbook I seldom use. Or a grandkid visiting with whatever they have. and so on.

(<sshh, quietly asking> is there an osx version so I can totally kill itunes?<G>

Yes, you can also use free versions on the same database. No, an OSX version doesn't exist, but: http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... diamonkey/

Wow!

Do these plug ins typically cost a couple bucks or ? I've not investigated deeply enough to determine this.

I have finally decided to use my mac mini as a content server (mostly e-books right now) but might move music over as the e-net interface is faster than on my NAS. Manage it thru VNC (Tight VNC, freebie)
