Hi all,
Obviously, I must be overlooking something simple yet I haven't been able to find the answer to my question. Let me explain. I luckily managed to migrate away from Itunes and got everything working in MM4. What a relief! I guess I got my share of issues while doing so, but I shouldn't complain. At least all metadata now is more or less the way I wanted it to be. The library folder I use for MM4 on my NAS is in fact my old Itunes Media Folder. So far so good.
But how do I add new content to this library? I manage to add new files manually in MM4, but when I check the properties of a particular track, it still shows the current location of that track. In other words, it looks as if MM4 doesn't really matter where all music physically is located but that is not what I want. I want all future tracks to be physical in the same location, for me that being the Itunes Media Folder. Do I miss one or more steps in the process? I need to keep everything together on on physical spot not to get lost someday.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Paul

Re: Adding new files to library
MediaMonkey by default respects where users store their files and leaves them there. If you want files to be auto-moved you can setup Auto-Organize (Gold feature) under Tools > Options > Auto-Organize.

Yes!!! MMW respects you and where you have put your files ... yeah!!!
As lowlander mentioned the Auto-Organize feature, which works quite well once the files are in the system (and *SHOULD* be used once in the database to keep from confusing it) i think is a gold feature. But by itself well worth getting gold.
Even if it wasn't I would strongly suggest moving the files to the locations (drive/folder etc) as you want them to be. Then scan it into MMW.

Lowlander and Dtsig, many thanks! I managed to do it and by magic all new tracks appear how and where I want them to be!
