Duplication of files

I have just transferred my music from my external hard drive, and it looks like all my tracks have been duplicated and triplicated in some instances, don't know why, does this mean I will have to delete all the unwanted duplications systematically or is there an easier way of doing it. Be gentle with me I'm not very techno. Cheers

If you copied or moved files to a different location and then scanned them in again you likely have files from the old and new location in the Library (thus duplicates). You can remove the old Location (folder) from the Location node in the applicable Collection (eg. Music > Location).
