Sync With Windows Metro 8.1

Every time I try to sync the Windows Metro app with the Desktop program, Mediamonkey treats it as a new device. Meaning I have to reselect the playlists to sync and it seems to take incredibly long and stalls out early often. Is there something different that I can do so that Mediamonkey doesn't treat my Metro App on my Surface Pro 3 as a new device at every sync? How about the speed aspect? My Note Edge syncs 3x as fast. Thanks for your time.
