mp3 PRO

It would definately be nice to encode to mp3 PRO in MM. I know they have the plug-in to read/play them. But it would be nice to encode them too!

Hi Ranger,
MP3Pro is outdated, closedsource, not free and the quality isn't as good as AAC+ (low bitrates) for example. For bitrates und over 96 I would recommend Ogg Vorbis (Aotuv's version) and for bitrates below that value I'd use AAC+.

I disagree. I think that MP3Pro is one of the better formats in terms of quality/size ratio. Wouldn't mind seeing an option to encode to MP3Pro in the next version. If not, then better support, like saying MP3Pro in the "type" column and having it use the Pro codec only for Pro files.

I totally agree with Big_Berny.
Mp3Pro isn't old technology, but it's certainly outstripped by AAC+ and others.
Many (portable and other) players don't have support for mp3pro, and will never have it.
AAC+ support will probably be added very soon to players that don't have it yet.

For objective comparisons, there are more than enough websites, stating the same.

...and since 2003 there's no development going on!
