Discogs Tagger 5.86 (Updated: 2024-11-09)

Well, again as 2 years ago, I just realized that I am unsure if there are really albums where front cover do work at all. I think the albums I thought it would work are just albums that had front covers included even before taggin in MediaMonkey...
At the moment I cannot get front cover download to work for any albums. Additional covers with "more images" work fine though.

Hi, do you see the cover in the Discogs Tagger window?
Adding the cover image use a MediaMonkey method. The additional images will be added with a own method.
Do you use the newest MM Version?

The Tagger download the images to the Temp folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
At the end of the LOG File you see the name of the image file, for example: LocalFile=C:\Users\Robin\AppData\Local\Temp\61023.jpg

If you open this file, do you see the cover image?

Please change the artwork location in the options of MM to: save image to file folder
Will be the cover image correctly saved with this location?

These lines do appear in the moment I open the "more images"-dialog and then I can open the images on my HDD manually. The images do get deleted as soon as I close the dialog window. I think that is intended.

I tried that but no image files do get saved to the folder neither.

Please download the newest Version of MediaMonkey. I know, there was a version, which have problems with saving the cover images

Sorry, the cover image is here: C:\Users\Robin\AppData\Local\Temp\cover.jpg
The other ones are the additional images.

I feel super stupid now. For some reasons that I cannot explain I was thinking I was using the latest version already. Not the case as I learned.
Updating to latest MM seems to have actually fixed the problem. Oh man... Sorry for bothering you...

I am hoping it will keep working ... Two years ago it also was working but then stopped again. As a reference for my future self in another 2 years, here I tried to modify the front cover downloading so that also the front cover is using the same mechanism as the additional images (dirty work in progress but also did somehow work):

ich habe mir Discogs Tagger 5.77 in meine Portable Version installiert. Leider fehlt bei mir im Menü die Einstellung dazu. Aufmerksam bin ich geworden, weil Erwin Hanzl einen Screen dazu zeigt, der bei mir nicht vorhanden ist.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, aber ich glaube es liegt daran, das Du die Portable-Version installiert hast. Dadurch werden die Änderungen in den Optionen nicht in MM angezeigt.

I tried to do an Autotag from web, errored with

Error #9 - Microsoft VBSscript runtime error
Subscript out of range: 'a'
File: "C:\users\[myname]\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MusicBrainzWebTag.vbs", Line: 1732, Column: 2

I get same error if I try Discogs or MetalArchives.

Trying to revert back to 5.77 until fixed.
