Album Art Transfer question

Post by Bluemoon.Bear »

Even though i spent a large amount time creating art for every song in my huge database, i now discover the Monkey does not transfer individual song art in a batch transfer. It uses the same art for every file associated with the album name. (album art ya i get that but....)
Do i really have to give every song it's own album name? come on now....

also, will the standard regular Monkey transfer to my OS 17 phone yet, or must i continue to use beta?

Hi,
I would recommend using Beta, but you can install clean stable 5.0.4.2693 as Portable and see if it recognizes your iPhone.

i knew the danger of asking a second unrelated question and yet i did it anyway...
so, are you recommending i use the beta because you think it will transfer my art or because just because on os 17?

Hi,
I do not use Apple devices but, short answer would be both, as I think that all other changes/tweaks added regarding iOS devices in MM 5.1 Beta surely help. I also know taht there was similar reports on Android devices and I can confirm that Album art is synced now.

well, i am already using the latest beta and nothing has changed with the album art. and i am not saying it is a bug, but it is annoying and working against the reasons i went with media monkey. if there is a way to work around it i would appreciate the help.

MediaMonkey Syncs a single Artwork per Album. Thus you must use unique Albums (Album and Album Artist value) to get different Artwork on the Synced device.

This makes it difficult for me. I have a 2000+ song 'Jukebox' that i would like to be able to transfer to devices as needed.
They all have to have a common name to make it easy to pull up with a search word and hit shuffle. And if i have to give each song it's own album name, it will really screw with my database when trying to listen to music not in the jukebox.

any advice on a work around?

No, for Sync you'll need proper Album information to get Artwork done per Album.

So there is no way to let each file have it's own art? That doesn't doesn't sound right... Why does it matter?

copying 2000 files over one at a time and waiting for the previous one to finish is very very very very very very tedious.

i can see where that will make the monkey milliseconds faster to not have to check if the art is different, but look at the number of very's i used.

any help in automating the process of transferring ALL the tag info for EACH file, including art, would be much appreciated.

i mean it seems like it would be simple to implement, and even wanted.

speed isn't always the goal...

ehhhh, i figured out a little work around that works for me. but i still recommend an option transfer all tag info including art.

my work around for anyone curious. i just leave album name blank for the all the files involved. instead i use the composer field to add my search word. (apple music allows search by composer).
this way the album art is included in the transfer and it does not convolute other searching methods.

I do not own any IOS devices, but have done a little test using my Android phone (MMA).

I synced 5 tracks from one album each with a different cover (Front, Back, Booklet1, Booklet2 & CD).

As expected in the Album view the album shows with the Front cover (Assigned to track 1), but in the playing queue my 5 tracks appear with each track having the different cover that was assigned.

So I don't know whether you can use the same technique on IOS devices.
