Help! Various Artist albums are all split up. No way to listen to compilations.

they will appear correctly if the tags are set correctly. Album name all the same, Album Artist all "various" and each track with the correct Artist set.

All the tags are correct. I don't even have a Various Artists node showing up in my list of artists/album artists

Cleared the database and rescanned everything. Fixed. Thanks

It seems to be poor progamming to me. In my practical, possibly pre-historic, logic, I look for an album (vynal or digital) select it and play it. It shouldn't matter whether the album is made up of various artists or one artist or group. As a secondary point it sometimes a good reminder to see who performs on the various tracks. If we have to put 'Various Artists' evrywhere, then that is not an option.

This logic would mean that the Album comes first?! Therefore, why does the Album itself so far down the pecking order? I have a lot of albums with various artists and I occasionally like to remind myself of wo is performing a given album track.

as I say, It seems to be lazy or misguided programming. Also bloody annoying as it involves a great deal of time for partial gain.

Hi,
In order to MM detect Compilation albums an ALBUM ARTIST needs to be same for all tracks eg. be that "Various Artists", "Compilation" or something of your Choice.

There is 3+ methods for that:
a) Select all tracks from Album -> Edit Properties -> Add "Various Artists" in Album Artists and OK
b) Select all tracks from Album -> Drag and Drop them to "Various Artists" Tree node
c) Use Files to Edit node and Edit Albums.
