Hello, after transfering my music database from my desktop to my notebook, my files seem to have been "split" into two and now are registered twice, once as the playable archive containing the song, basic metadata and rating, and another greyed out one that is unplayable but has the basic metadata, rating and my custom tags.
When I try to play the greyed out files, I get an error saying that the "execution failed because the file is innacessible". How can I merge the files and their tags back again? I could do it manually, but there are hours of catalogued music and it would take a lot of time.

I haven't actually lost any music or information, but custom tags are the main reason that I bought Media Monkey and I really need to fix my archive.

It sounds like you also transferred the database, but didn't do Step 5: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index. ... w_computer
Is that the case?

Re: Files split after transfering and I need to merge my custom tags
I really hadn't done step 5 before, but even when I did it, the program would recognize the files in the new location and the dead links as two separate things. The solution I came up with was to export the database from my old computer again, load it up in my new device without any auto-scanning for locations, and then step 5 finally worked. After that, I just did a basic scan for the new files to get all the new songs I downloaded on my new device and they kept their tags. My library is finally in order. Thank you for the help!

Correct, a messed up library won't be fixed by this. You'd need to remove the new copies. But what you did works too.
