Hi
I remember this not working for me some years ago when I last had my library on my mobile.
Can't get it to work..should it??
So it works from mmw, and also from bubble upnp from my mobile.
In MMA I can see the denon speakers, but can't establish the connection.
Is it a known bug? I hope the problems on my end..but can't figure it out;)
Very important feature I almost need to use, if I want to go a synology bad route, and not build my own, because I need a network player..
Ty for input

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
Hi,
Main issue here is that you use MMA as Media Controller to play from Synology to Denon (known to have issues generally). So main concern is to how to fetch and debug all the non MMA calls eg. usually MMA should corresponds with telling Synology to serve media to Denon, but due the issues we already had with these devices looks like we missed something
Also MMW and MMA uses different control libraries and that could explain difference
Often it helps to open Denon App on phone and activate device and then switch to MMA for playback/control.
If you any different behaviors please let us know so that we can try to catch right moment to send MMA logs (☰ -> ? -> Send Logs -> Write log id -> Send log -> Send ID here in reply)

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
Hi,
I would also suggest testing out the following:
1) Verify whether you can play tracks from your Synology NAS in MMA over UPnP using your phone's speakers
2) Check whether you can play tracks that are stored locally on your phone running MMA to the Denon device?
If either of the above fails, please generate and share a debug log (since if either of the above simpler cases fails, it's unlikely that the more complex case that you described will work).

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
sry for late reply!
but it seems i didnt explain it properly:
right now i dont have a server..i just want to be able to play music from my phone on a dnla device
my goal in a whole is:
-having my music (and movies/photos, sensitive data) on a network storage, to be played locally/maybe remotely
-being able to edit ratings from my player while playing
-access auto playlists
-ofcourse be able to edit my whole library from MMW
maybe the better way for this is to have a player on this device? and maybe control this player remotely?
so thats why im think if a simple storage solution is valid (truenas diy or synology), or if i need basically a windows which is attached for this, which i could control with mma remote?
so basically want to have the ratings functionality available in my network playing environment
mma dnla casting is a basic necessity for the above to work right?anyway nice to have it work..
@ rusty: playing local files on my phone doesnt work in my mma, works on bubble upnp though
thx

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
Streaming doesn't support tagging (Rating). Only Sync to phone and resync after tagging could tag the files (on your PC or on a NAS).
A NAS can be used, and many do. As a file server you'd have full file control, as. DLNA server you can only stream. If using it as File Server you'd need MMW for streaming (no tagging), MMW contolled playback (check MonkeyMote) or Sync.

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
I don't understand; if MMA is unable to play music files that are stored locally (on the phone), then it would be expected that it can't cast those same files! The first thing to solve is why can't MMA play files that are on the device--OR am I misunderstanding what you mean?@ rusty: playing local files on my phone doesnt work in my mma, works on bubble upnp though

Re: MMA dnla streaming to speakers
sry should have said
CASTING local files on my phone doesnt work in my mma, works on bubble upnp though
i can play in mma
i cant play and cast to denon in mma using the topright icon..i see the denon, but mma symbol is showing a connecting animation
i CAN play in bubble upnp AND cast it to the denon

Hi,
Thanks for clarifying.
I'm trying to find the log but can't find log 7Z9KPUGL6F associated with the current version 2.1.1.1290! What version of MMA are you using?
