Can't Change Genre From List

Before today, if I selected an artist from the Contributing Artist list MM would display a picture of the artist and, besides that a biography. Under the biography, MM would display the cover of each of the albums for that artist. After all the covers were displayed, MM would then display a list of all the tracks for the albums.

While testing the drop-down list problem this morning, the track list display changed completely. The fields displayed were completely different from the ones I have been using for years. It was that I noticed that the cover art was no longer being displayed. I verified that there was still art stored in the tags. I searched for a setting that would suppress the art display but did not find one. After doing some research, I cleared the cover art directory but it did not fix the problem.

Again, Artwork in the tags has no affect on artist images, only Album images.

You may have disabled the Info Panel, is that the case? Otherwise you may have disabled autolookups needed to display the information.

I apologize for my inability to express myself clearly.
At no time have I intended to state that the Artist image was in any way compromised.
My problems were always with the Album Cover Art.

I was unable to find anything on my setup regarding an Art info panel.
Finally, I performed a "factory reset".
I then rescanned my 22,000+ tracks.
The Album cover issue no longer exists.
The reset did not, however, fix the original drop-down menu issue nor did it clear up the fact that MM can no longer find Bios for a few artists such as the Beatles and Elton John.

I can now provide some clarity.
On the second menu bar (at the top) is a View option
Browser Mode:
Album Covers appear below the biography
Genre as a column, drop-down list selection works
Properties panel, drop-down list selection works
Related Artist Appears

List Mode
Album Covers do not show and columns are different from those in Browser mode. This explains my earlier confusion, I must have changed this setting without realizing the ramifications
Drop-down list selections work in the columns and the properties display.
Related Artists does not appear.

List by Album Mode
Album covers are displayed as a column
Drop-down list selection works
Related Artist does not appear
This is a new to me display and meets all my needs.

I cannot explain why the drop-down list selection now works. I do know the factory reset did not clear the problem. I suspect that toggling between the View Modes cleared up the problem.
