[REQ] Rip CD: Title Case

Post by refrance »

If there is already a way to do this, I would like to know how. If not, I would like to add it to the wish list for a future release.

Basically, I like to use "Title Case" for song titles and album titles most the time. When ripping CDs, it appears to be kind of random. In the image below, you can see examples in the first three songs where "of", "a" and "the" are using all lower case. I prefer title case so they should be "Of", "A" and "The". ie: "Across The Universe"

Is there a way to convert all titles to title case when ripping a CD, or after they have been ripped and are in the system? If not, would you consider adding an option to use title case when ripping?

The reason I would rather have this as a setting when ripping the CD is because occasionally there are songs where title case does not apply such as the song "Chega de Saudade" by Jane Monheit. So it needs to be when you are setting the Title and not just how you view the titles - in my opinion at least.

The case is whatever is available from the online lookup. There is a mix of case used.

There is a Case Checker Addon available to manually modify case of selected files.
