Playback on Marantz 1711

Post by TheEmpathicEar »

It seems as if all of sudden, when I click on an artist->album->track - whatever. MMA plays one track and then stops? This is happening to albums that have successfully played in the very recent past.
I am casting from MMA to the Marantz 1711. Nothing new here. Why play 1 tracks and stop?

Ok. No one is talking. My desktop that all my music resided on an SSD fell and no longer works at all. No boot, POST, gonzo. Is MMA still trying to connect to it during playback? I really have no idea what to do? Until I can get another desktop and transfer the music on the SSD from the damaged desktop to the new desktop?

Reinstall MM5 on new desktop

Post by TheEmpathicEar »

If I reinstall MM5 on a new desktop, should I
1. (Re)Scan all my music on my SSD with all my music?
2. After this, I should delete all the music synced to my phone, S24+ and do another wired sync from the new desktop PC to the phone?

I suggest migration: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Player

Sync should match files, so deletion shouldn't be necessary.

Well, the SSD with all the music will come from the desktop that no longer works. I am going to install it in my new desktop and hope for the best. I just assumed that you needed to install MM5, scan music on SSD that has been moved, and then go from there? I was worried that something might change?

If you have the database file, I'd attempt to use it. It contains Playlists and Play History that would otherwise be lost.

Ouch :( Please let me know if I can help you with anything. If you copy MM5.DB to new PC and connect SSD with Music MMW should recognize it immediately and you should be back in business.

I have to purchase a new PC first. Along with that, I need another SSD that plugs directly into the motherboard [much faster]. The SSD from old [6 years+] PC has all the data on it [music, etc.] but it has a SATA connection. I need to copy this to the new SSD preserving all the dates/times/etc. Where would the MM5.DB go? [Folder] And, after this how to make sure that all the music on my S24+ reflects what's on this new SSD/PC.

Hi,
No need to put old SSD to ne PC just buy enclosure like this one https://www.amazon.com/RSHTECH-Enclosur ... F4DT7?th=1 and when you plug it to new PC MMW should recognize it. MM5.DB goes to respective folder as noted here https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... ini-files/ (overwrite one already there). You can then Use MMW to Organize files of it.
