4.1 Album Art issue - double click
Hi,
just installed 4.1 and find a small issue with the album art display, or a change in behavior:
- When clicking the Album art, either Now Playing or Selected, I am used to the album art pop-up showing. Now it just shows details of the file in an overlay.
So any way to get it back to the original behavior of popping up the artwork? I really liked it and I use it to check quality of the image. I know I can click the album art in the player but I want to also check it for albums I am browsing.
Using Delletronic skin if that's the issue - it's quite an old skin but it seems to work fine otherwise.
Thanks for any help.

It works for me. A fast double click still opens the Artwork in a new window. Note this is when just the Artwork is showing.

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
Hey Lowlander thanks for the quick reply
Ah yes, a regular old double click does it. A regular click just shows information.
But this was changed from 3 to 4.0 I think, so that single-click would open the artwork, while double click actually started playing the file? Now it seems to have been changed back. It's fine for me though, I actually preferred the old way to open the art, i.e. double click.
I tended to forget and double click the album art, and have the playlist messed up
I guess this is why I didn't figure it out now - I was afraid to start playing the song like I've been used to with 4.0...
However I wish there was a way to configure this behavior; personally I have not much use for the information "overlay" that comes now with single-click.
Thanks!

You can disable overlay be disabling everything in Choose Fields from the context menu. However it won't change click behavior.

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
Thanks, that does remove the overlay. However this has another issue, it seems the display has two "modes":
1. Regular - double click opens artwork window, single goes into "Overlay" mode.
2. Overlay - double click opens properties, single goes back to Regular mode.
So without the overlay displaying anything, there is no way to know what mode it's in and what a double click would do...
Not a big issue though, I can live with it, just need to display something anyway to know what mode is active I guess

You'd need to display something to know what mode is active.

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
They used to have 1 click to open enlarged artwork in iTunes as well, but apple took it away.
I switched to mediaMonkey after that and you've now taken away that feature as well. I cannot double click as you say (I have arthritis).
My dream with album artwork was to be able to click on the art preview to make it enlarged (like before), but then being able to easily navigate through the artwork while you're on the enlarged screen. You used to have to go back and forth to make the next image in the file full screen.

Do you mean in the Filelisting or the Art & Details window? The latter is still possible.Marqueemoon wrote:My dream with album artwork was to be able to click on the art preview to make it enlarged (like before)

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
I'm meaning in the enlarged album art window that comes up. Currently, in order to display that enlarged album art window, you have to make sure that "show file details" isn't selected in the "Art & Details" window (you can disable that by right clicking and deselecting "show file details". Then if you double click on the album art there, it brings up the enlarged album art in a window. That used to be done with one click rather than double click.Lowlander wrote:Do you mean in the Filelisting or the Art & Details window? Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
I'm with Marquemoon here: I think it was a bad idea to change this standard, expected behavior just to have the "track details" view that I really don't see the use for (and probably not many others).
Also now the double-click to maximize album art is inconsistent with the album art in the player, which still is enlarged with a single click.

I, too, agree with Marquemoon. this is an unwelcome change.
Can't afford a signature.

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
The fact is, you can right click on the art preview in order to enable or disable "show file details". If you like the information in "show file details" which many people do, then you're not exactly going to be enabling and disabling it for every album are you??
Please note that "show file details" isn't a user friendly experience either. You now enable "show file details" by left clicking on the art preview, but you need to right click on the art preview to disable "show file details".
Please bring back one left click for enlarged artwork!!

Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
I agree with Marqueemoon and others. This is an unwelcome change and I preferred the previous behaviour. At a minimum, it would be nice to have an option to go back to the old behaviour (single click = enlarged artwork) in the Settings.
Re: 4.1 Album Art issue - double click
On 1 PC I deselected all fields in Choose Fields and a single click opens the Artwork. So it seems you still can do this.
