Column Browser not remembering columns when using Custom Views [#16427]

Post by thebertster »

Another Custom View issue related to the other issues I have logged with Custom Views.

I want to have different columns selected in the column filter for different nodes in my library, e.g. Music should have columns "Album Artist", "Genre", "Album" whereas Classical Music should have "Composer", "Album" and Audiobooks should have "Author", "Artist", "Album".

This all seems to work fine when the nodes are using the standard default views. If I use a Custom View for a node however (e.g. as per my other bug reports where I create a custom "List (by Album)" view type with a different sort order etc.), the columns in the column browser are not maintained properly. For example if I assign this Custom View to the Music node and then switch to "Classical Music" and then back to "Music", now the Music node has "Composer" and "Album" as the columns in the column browser.

Hi,
We are already working on improving custom views and Column/List Browser. So in next few versions you should observe improvements and most likely fix to this behavior.
